Joomla default content editor TinyMCE dose not provide you with the image resize facility.
Many times users upload the image as it is, without resizing the image size.
When user wants to put this over sized images in article, they have to put height and weight parameters to fit the image in the article.

Image Resize Plugin makes image resizing task very easy!
You just have to download the Image Resize Plugin from Joomla Extension website.

1. Install the Image Resize Plugin
2. Go to Extensions->PluginsManger
3. Search for the Image Resize Plugin and enable it (Image Resize Plugin is Content Plugin)

Next time you put image in joomla article from administrator->article manager ->new article,
you can resize the images just by dragging the image using mouse.

Image Resize Plugin can be in core of joomla code in the next release.
