When Google Search Wiki is enabled you will see the personalized google search result. That is google know your interest and will show relevent website url above the rest. But his can be anoying some times. What if you want to see your competitors google ranking, you are using the same keyword for your website also. Then google personalized search result can be miss leading. If you have enabled the google search wiki and you are login to your google account, that means the results which you are seeing when you do google search are not the actual rankings. What you are seeing is google personalized search results which google are showing according to your previous google searches and google web history. How to disable google search wiki If you want to see actual results ( which are not personalized according to your google web history) then you can do following things. 1. Logout of the google account you are login. 2. Click on the link at the bottom fo the google search page saying "personalized based on your web history. more details" 3. You can append the google query string with "&pws=0&hl=all" pws=0 turns off personalized search. hl=all turns off the search wiki features. Example: http://www.google.com/search?q=some+dummy+keyword&pws=0&hl=all To Disable Google Search Wiki you can login to your google account and go to http://www.google.com/preferences There you can disable Google Search Wiki.
